The harmony of the whole – embodied knowing as a tool for agency in navigating the world

on 24 November 2025.

The keynote is part of the symposium taking place from November 24th to 29th, 2025,

in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico.

This event is part of the first stage of the project Autumn Sunflowers: Artivism for Women’s

Embodiments in Fullness, supported by the Mexican Secretariat of Science, Humanities,

Technology, and Innovation, and jointly developed by Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de

Hidalgo, Universidad de Guanajuato, and Texas State University.

The Autumn Sunflowers project seeks to re-signify women’s experiences of maturity—what in

Mexico we name plenitud or fullness—and to strengthen their rights through collective

participation, academic research, and artistic creation. The Symposia offers a space for reflection

and creation, where participants can pause, question the demands imposed on their bodies, and

redirect their gaze inward. Through individual and collective practices of self-care and selfdetermination,

participants will open paths toward self-knowledge and agency. The program will

include four keynote lectures, three workshops, two panels of presentations, and three dialogue

roundtables.
