Screendance , January 7, 2019

Inspired by the lushness of the North Yorkshire Moors Wild-er-ness is a blend of site specific and site adaptive material intimately woven into a multidisciplinary performance in the intersection of dance, video, music and fashion design.

Wild-er-ness explores the sensory experience of time, place, and belonging.  Set in Northern England, two traveling women of unknown origin meet, intersect, and dissipate through misty landscapes and treacherous trails.  The aesthetically serene screendance conjures feelings of nostalgia, adventure, kinship, and longing.  With dancers acting as canvas for multi-layered images, and screens magnifying dancers in space, this self-referential work, invites the audience to wander through its unique interpretation of space.

WECreate Productions, is committed to exploring the possibilities of digital technology in service of collaborative Art creation. Consistent with their artistic research schema in the fields of dance and video, directors Ana Baer and Heike Salzer incite new challenges for the creation of “Wild-er-ness”, by integrating the notion of fashion design as another starting point. Similarly, WECreate Productions, embraces drone filming techniques for the conception of this piece.
