Bekkur/Bænk 1,2,3…

teaser_pics_bb123_lowBekkur/Bænk 123,… A site specific dance film installation. The project was filmed in Iceland and Denmark.  Bekkur/Bænk 1 will be presented in Reykjavik and Copenhagen as an installation, Bekkur/Bænk 2 as a youtube video and Bekkur/Bænk 3 as mobile phone clips.

- Filming took take place in the period of 17.July – 17.August 2009.

People involved

Ingi Jensson (b.Iceland, 1970) – Visualization/Director/Camera. Ingi is a versatile visual artist working in genres as cartoons, illustration and storyboarding as well as video and performance. His work has been published, exhibited and performed in Iceland, The Netherlands and Spain, and since having arrived in the UK he has become a member of Platform Arts in Middlesbrough. www.coroflot.com/ingi

Heike Salzer (b.Germany, 1973) – Choreographer/Director/Camera: Heike is a dance artist, choreographer and performer, and has been teaching in various professional environments – With main focus on site specific work and technology in performance. Her work has been staged in Austria, Iceland and the Netherlands. She has performed in site specific dance performances and been invited internationally as a guest artist for professional training. She trained at the Dance Academy in Arnhem and recieved a MA Choreography from the University of Leeds. Since spring 2008 she holds the post of Programme leader for the BA Dance at Teesside University.

Sigurður Þ. Einarsson (b.Iceland, 1970) - Third pair of eyes/Camera: Sigurður is a video art enthusiast, and a fanatic admirer of moving pictures. He has been experimenting with various aspects of video and film making since he was a young ling, including post-production, sound, animation, music videos, and performing.  Examples of his work can be found on the website. He is currently working for The Academy Of The Arts Iceland as a computer freak.

Saga Sigurðardóttir (b. Iceland, 1982) – Dancer
made her professional dance education at the Icelandic Ballet School in Reykjavik and later at ArtEZ Dansakademie in the Netherlands, from where she graduated as Dance-Maker in 2006. Saga has since then worked as freelance performer and choreographer with various artists in Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands and Iceland. Her latest collaborative production “Humanimal” by the theater group “Me and My Friends” was premiered in Iceland in April 2009 and was nominated for 9 Icelandic annual theater awards; together with Margret Bjarnadottir she received the award for best choreography.

Søren Linding Urup (b.Denmark, 1980)- Dancer: Søren holds a Bachelors degree in rhetorics with subjects in language psychology, visual culture and dance from University of Copenhagen and graduated from Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance ( SEAD ) where he has been a company member in Bodhi Project – postgraduate program at SEAD 2008/2009. Furthermore he has worked in Denmark, Austria and Holland as a freelance artist with choreographers Matej Kejzar and Diego Gil, Oleg Oleg Soulimenko and the collective MomandDad among others.
